***transmissions are an almost-monthly newsletter sharing the things that inspire and move me…enjoy***

Andre 3000 has a legacy of stories following him like a shadow. Evidence of consistent encouragement, kindness, and inspiration echoes well beyond genre and generation. His art, most notably with Outkast, so too transcends the cosmos with culture-evolving impact. With Outkast recently being introduced to the Rock and Roll hall of fame, folks have been writing lots about what Outkast and Andre mean to them.
I’ll maybe share that essay from my perspective for another day, but today I wanted to share an example of the way inspiration can trickle down. Often in the background when I’m working on my book or something, I’m listening to a YouTube playlist of cover songs I love. Well, it turns out that this playlist has a great host of covers of the famed Outkast song Hey Ya. And so for transmission number 3…I wanted to share with you my top 4 Hey Ya Covers.
#1 - Hey Ya by Kamauu (by farrrr my favorite)
#2 - For the Pop Punk Homies
#3 - So sweet for the soul & peaceful AF
#4 - Communal & Beautiful
