Tyler, you wrote this just for me—so many chords were sounded. Now I want to find St Benedict’s prologue—whatever that is. Finding your tent mirrors something I read recently in Lilith by George Macdonald when Mr Vane follows the crow into another world:
"Oblige me by telling me where I am."
"That is impossible. You know nothing about whereness. The only way to come to know where you are is to begin to make yourself at home."
"How am I to begin that where everything is so strange?"
Tyler wow!!! This speaks to me in such a big way! This is one of the most inspiring and beautiful posts for me to love in union with Yahweh🙏🏻Amen and amen🩵
Thank you for your words, Tyler. I kept returning to St John of the Cross’ poem “the dark night of the soul” as I read your article. It is through those desolate periods where my faith is renewed, strengthened and ultimately forged in those periods of great mystery / crisis
Thank you for sharing, I appreciate the question, “How do you dwell in the tent of God?” I also find the more I look for divinity, there it is in the most simple things. After walking my partner across the threshold and moving halfway across the world, I am on a new journey of surrender and trust. I felt called to share with you my recent poem, Pilgrimage, and will leave you with a question from it,
What a good question to ask. I will put that in my pocket. And holy moly…what a journey you are on. 💙 I’m sure your heart is expanding and grieving and just feeling in all sorts of ways.

if you just buy a volume of “the rule of st. Benedict.” The prologue is at the very begning.
